It was hot. August in Arizona type of hot – yikes! A car pulled up to the location and the mama-to-be got out of the car, looking as cute as ever! Not only did she have that maternity glow (it’s a real thing, by the way), but she was killin’ it in a great dress and heels. That’s right – 7 months pregnant in high heels! I knew just from the heels she’s was going to be a trooper, which was a necessity in the crazy 100+ degrees.
As we started the session everything was going amazing! I got to know a little bit more about Janelle, Stephen, and their newest addition who is set to be joining them on Halloween (what a fun holiday due date)! They quickly impressed me with their ease in front of the camera… and Janelle was even managing the heat with a hand held fan she brought with her – told you she’s a trooper!
As we moved to our second location, we noticed a dust storm was fast approaching, which was not in the forecast when I last checked! We decided to stick to the tree coverage instead going out into the open field. But then, even the trees couldn’t help us- the dust storm hit us head on! When I asked if they wanted to take cover in the car, they said no and totally stuck out the crazy weather with me! We quickly finished the last few images we wanted to capture and then high tailed it out of that windy and dusty outdoor location. We missed the rain by about 10 minutes, and I’m so glad Janelle and Stephen stuck it out with me during the dust storm because we got amazing images!
Janelle & Stephen, you two are so sweet and I’m so thankful you chose me to capture the sweet memories of your pregnancy. The excitement you shared about becoming parents was so infectious, and I know you are going to make wonderful parents to your new baby boy. I wish you all the best on your next adventure!
Here are a few of my favorite images from the maternity session:
